A TRADITIONAL WEST AFRICAN PERFORMANCE ENSEMBLE BRINGING THE
SPIRIT OF WEST AFRICAN MUSIC AND DANCE TO NEW ENGLAND!

Jeh Kulu Dance and Drum Theater invites you to join us in celebration through traditional West African music and dance. In the Bambara language of Mali, "Jeh Kulu" means "community" and this is exactly what we hope to build with our audiences! Founded in 1993, Jeh Kulu brings together people of all ages and backgrounds to honor the joyous traditions of West Africa.

Our vision is to raise cultural awareness, build a sense of community, and, at the same time, have fun! Jeh Kulu is comprised of sixteen talented artists who share traditional rhythms and dances from the countries of Guinea, Senegal and Mali, West Africa. The group features master artists who are well-known in their own countries, and also highly-trained American artists who have extensive experience in the field of education and social services.
